Isaac Capetillo

Born in 1967 in Habana, Cuba, he started to learn to dance as an autodidact and his career as a musician helped him to get the access to cuban schools of international reputation such as “Cabaret Tropicana”.

He was formed a profesional musician (Guitar, Percussion, Trumpet) in different Conservatories of Cuba, such as for example “Alejandro Caturla”, Amadeo Roldán”, ...

Starting his artistic career with the famous Orchestre of the “Benny Moré-Show”, he later became part of the Son-band “Chapotin y sus Estrellas”.

Little later he was the musical director of “Carlos Manuel y su Carapacho” and and gave concerts in well-known places like “El palacio de la Salsa”, “Marina Hemingway”, ...
 

In 1995, with “Chavi y los del Barrio” he was invited by the city of Seville to take part in the program “Encuentros entre el Son y el Flamenco”, which gave him the opportunity to share stage with Compay Segundo, La Familia Fernández, Tomatito..

Other bands he was part of are for example “Los Cuban Boys”, “Big Band” de la Universidad de Sevilla, the singer “Manzanita”, “Maria José Santiago”, ...

In his career he played many different types of music, such as Salsa, Spanish Music, Jazz, Pop music, ...
During his stay in Spain he acted as musician and dancer in some of the most important andalusian theatres like “Lope de Vega”, “Maestranza” de Sevilla, “Gran Teatro Falla” de Cádiz, and many festivals and TV-programs.

In the last years he concentrated his efforts more in teaching without giving up the concerts, and decided to open up his own school “Flamencoycuba”, where he teaches latin dance to people from all over the world.

Also he visited other countries such as Hungary and Germany to give workshops in Latin dance and percussion.
